Children and teens are suffering more acutely from stress and anxiety, and at younger ages, than ever before. We know this intuitively as parents, and there are a multitude of studies that validate our intuition and concerns. As parents our first instinct is to identify the problem and then solve it, but we often struggle when speaking with our children. Finding the right words and the right time to encourage honesty and candor from kids about how they are feeling is at best tricky and can sometimes feel impossible.

AmCham's Education Committee invites you to join us on March 14, 2019, from 8:00 – 9:30am as we host a panel discussion about creating the space to have honest dialogue with your children. Our panel of experts will provide insights and information that will help attendees understand the different stages of psychological and emotional development; recognize what anxiety looks like at different ages and stages of development; develop skill sets that support communicating with your children in meaningful, productive ways; and recognize when you need additional support.

In response to AmCham member feedback and also the issues raised in the movie Angst, AmCham's Education Committee will be hosting a series of events focused on the stresses and strains of being a child in the 21st century and on what we can do as parents to support healthy development in an age of uncertainty. The next event in the series will take place on April 11 (8:00 – 9:30am) when we discuss Surviving and Thriving in a Digital World. Topics covered will include supporting your children in creating appropriate relationships with technology, and guiding your children in balancing the risks and the opportunities present in the digital universe.

First 15-20 minutes is for networking
