Born and raised in France, Arnault Castel founded kapok in 2006 as an antidote to the perceived blandness of the Hong Kong retail scene.
kapok focuses on designers and brands whose work reflects his attitudes towards quality craftsmanship and creativity in design. kapok has grown to a network of 13 stores in four countries: Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan.
Arnault has developed an extensive knowledge and understanding of the Asian consumer goods and retail environment since 1996, when he moved to Hong Kong. In 2001, he joined the team in charge of the development of the Lomography brand in Asia as the head of Southeast Asian operations.

Andrew Chan  is Co-Founder and CMO of AfterShip - winner of the first ever Startup Weekend Hong Kong and 2011's Global Startup Battle. AfterShip is a shipment tracking application for online retailers, supporting over 240 carriers worldwide. Andrew is responsible for UI/UX design, SEO, partnerships, PR and customer communications at AfterShip.
Andrew previously worked for Accenture as an IT consultant, and is a graduate of the University of Hong Kong.

Peggy Chan is the Founder and Chairman of the Excel Technology Group, which specializes in providing enterprise software products and development services to multinational corporations.
Ms. Chan has over 25 years of experience in corporate finance, business development, mergers and acquisitions, corporate re-engineering, strategy studies, and technology planning. Starting her career as a senior manager in Ernst & Young in United States, Ms. Chan returned to Hong Kong in 1988 to establish the Excel Technology Group.

Tony Cheng, CEO and founder of Drawing Room Concepts (DRC), started his culinary business in 2009. Today, DRC owns and manages nine restaurants with seven unique concepts, including AMMO, Hainan Shaoye and Made in HK.
 

Laurie Goldberg is the Founder and Managing Director of AmeriCraft Imports, a craft beer and spirits import and distribution company based in Hong Kong. AmeriCraft was the 2014 and 2015 winner of the 'Best Beer Importer' award at the Hong Kong International Beer Awards. Laurie is a founding member and the former Secretary of the Craft Beer Association of Hong Kong and is active in Hong Kong's craft beer community. She is also the Co-Chair of the Entrepreneurs/SME Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
Prior to founding AmeriCraft in December 2011, Laurie worked as a litigator at Caldwell Leslie & Proctor, PC, from 2007-2011 in Los Angeles, California, and as a law clerk for Federal Magistrate Judge Kevin S.C. Chang in Honolulu, Hawaii from 2005-2007.
