Creating a responsible, sustainable business is an increasing focus for businesses of all sizes. How can companies turn a sustainable approach into a concrete action?

Chris Coulter, CEO of GlobeScan, will be previewing GlobeScan's latest research from the Healthy and Sustainable Living program— a study of consumer preferences in 25 countries, including Hong Kong and China— that builds on 20 years of trend research. Chris will outline the risks and opportunities for businesses through the lens of sustainability. We will use these inputs and megatrends for an interactive panel discussion on the practical implications for business, particularly SMEs, to catalyze a new way to align purpose and profit.
Amie Shuttleworth, Global Director of Sustainability at Cundall will provide a range of case studies from different businesses (including Cundall) showcasing different ways of embedding sustainability within businesses – as each organization is unique and there isn't a 'one size fits all' solution, she will take you through the ways to identify the best approach to take, and to provide examples for both creating and delivering a successful strategy.
Kelvin Chan, Founder & Managing Director of Korean Corner, will share the insight of one of their brands, "GREEN Project", and the influence of GREEN Project in the supply chain. GREEN Project focuses on GREEN & sustainable events and activities that use 100% recyclable paper as the core, applying the UN SDGs since 2015. Kelvin will share how the GREEN Project engages all stakeholders in the supply chain and gets the active collaboration of constituents across government, business, and the non-profit world.

Dr. Kelvin Chan is the Founder of the successful brand “Korean Corner”. He has about 16+ years working experience in trading, brand management and licensing business, including 12+ years in management level of multinational companies. Therefore, Kelvin built up the mature global connection through the active collaboration of constituents across government, business, and the nonprofit world as well as the technique of working with different people in different industries worldwide. Kelvin has awarded a DBA degree and studied/alumnus of University of Manchester, University of Cambridge, University of Chicago Booth, MIT, IE Business School, Stanford University, etc.. The learning process in all these world top-tier universities enable him “to think out of the box”, developed creative & innovative thinking and strengthen his entrepreneurial mindset for developing business and his brands globally.

In the past years, Kelvin led his team to turn many impossible to possible of building Global Brand as well as boosting revenue and developed different new businesses successfully and dramatically at low cost, he built high reputation and recognition for his brands and himself and got hundreds of media exposures for FREE. Moreover, he created the signature brand – GREEN Project. Kelvin was invited by United Nations organization and introduced GREEN Project at UN Headquarter in Oct 2018. Kelvin and his brands scooped 40+ international awards and recognitions, such as breaking Guinness World Record by their creative & innovative design in 2016, HSBC Living Business ESG Award and HKAEE. Personally, Kelvin was chosen as the World Outstanding Chinese who was the youngest winner in the history, was chosen as the first Hong Kong winner of UK Alumni Award, nominated as the Justice of Peace (JP), and his portrait photo been hung on Wall of Fame in the Hamilton House gallery, London as one of the most successful Entrepreneur, etc..

Chris Coulter works with leaders in business, NGOs and governmental organizations to help them better understand and respond to shifting stakeholder expectations, build trust with key constituencies and exert greater influence in shaping the future.

Chris has two decades of experience in providing evidence-based counsel to leadership organizations in the areas of reputation, purpose and sustainability.

Chris is a specialist in international relations, holding a MA in International Affairs and has substantive international experience having lived and worked in North America, Europe and Asia.

Chris has been with GlobeScan since 1998. He is also a member of Sustainability’s Council and is a Board Member of Canadian Business for Social Responsibility and Good World Solutions. He is the author of the new book, All In: The Future of Business Leadership, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA).

Ms Amie Shuttleworth is responsible for Cundall’s global sustainability strategy spanning their 20 different offices and all of their engineering and consultancy services offered. Since joining she has created a sustainable design training programme available to all employees (Cundall Diploma) which has now had over 100 engineers upskilled on this 2 year programme, developed the Beyond Report – a free sustainable design report provided to all clients to show how that project can embed sustainability, signed Cundall up to achieve Science Based Targets as well as a member of EP100. She recently lead a team in the development of their new sustainability strategy, One Planet, One Chance – which focuses on Research & Technical Development ensuring Cundall’s services remain cutting edge.

Previous to joining Cundall, Ms Shuttleworth was the Head of Sustainability for main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine in the UK where she worked for over 10 years before returning to Hong Kong where she grew up. During this time, Ms Shuttleworth was recognised as one of Building Magazine's Rising Stars of Sustainability in 2013, she was also a visiting Fellow of Sustainable Construction at Birmingham City University and the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership Ambassador for Hong Kong.

Based in Hong Kong, Ming Lai Cheung works as Manager for Illicit Trade Prevention – Asia at Philip Morris International. Among her many responsibilities, she is tasked to devise and execute strategies against illicit trade in selected markets in Asia Pacific which include engaging relevant stakeholders in business and the wider community to bring about legislative and regulatory changes in governments and law enforcement. She has a research interest in terrorism, organized crimes, and human trafficking.

Ming Lai established and chairs the Shadow Economy Sub-Committee (SESC) within the Trade and Investment Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (AmCham), leading a team of experts in three areas: Financial Crimes and Anti-Money Laundering, Trade Technology, and Intellectual Property Rights Protection and Enforcement to address illicit trade issues in the region.

Ming Lai volunteers as a Charities Reporter for the American Women’s Association (AWA) magazine AWAre and researches, interviews and writes about community projects in Hong Kong. Further, she serves as a Director and Company Secretary for C3 Church Hong Kong providing strategic direction and governance, and overseeing its external relations and charity programs.

Ming Lai was formerly a Director of Government Relations and Public Affairs at AmCham. She is a qualified lawyer of the New South Wales Supreme Court, Australia. She holds a Master of International Law from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Government & Public Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
