The diversity of the US higher education system provides students with a lot of options but it also gives their families a big headache during the selection and application process. Different universities have their own expectations, policies and requirements regarding admission and they look for different kinds of students. Expectations of parents and children may not be the same. How do universities differ from each other? How can parents help their children to make a wise and informed choice?
This seminar aims at helping parents to better understand the university admissions system in the United States, thus equipping them with the necessary tools to plan and handle the application process for their children in a more structured and efficient manner.
Topics that Dr.
Montgomery will cover include:
·   US higher education system: overview and update
·   Selective university admission: What is the best university?
·   University priorities: What do the universities want?
·   Planning: How can parents best prepare their kids for future education?
·   Strategies: discover the 'Wows" factors of your kids
Dr. Montgomery will share the updated information and his experience in working with different students in the seminar. He will also be happy to answer any question parents/students may have in the Q&A session.
Any parent with school-age children considering higher education in the United States is welcome. The seminar will address concerns of both US citizens and citizens of other countries.
