Dr. Thurley is the General Manager for Roche Pharmaceuticals in Hong Kong and Macau.

Reporting into the regional office for Roche in Asia, Daniel is responsible for all aspects of Research, Development and commercial operations since 2018. Previously Daniel was the General Manager for Roche Pharmaceuticals in New Zealand, and before that, for over a decade, was Medical Director in Australia, UK, Singapore and Switzerland in local, regional and global roles.

Daniel is a United Kingdom trained Consultant Physician (Cambridge University) who has also practiced clinically in several countries around the World, primarily in the field of Medical Oncology.

He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh), and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, and until 2019 was an examiner for the UK Royal College of Physicians (London). He is a Member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), President of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry (HKAPI), Vice Chair of the Hong Kong British Chamber of Commerce’s Healthcare Committee, and Director of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong.

Hong Tran is a partner of Mayer Brown and is a Co-Firm Practice Leader of the global Employment and Benefits Group. He advises employers on compliance with employment, discrimination and privacy legislation. He also advises on strategic labour force issues including the structure of employment relationships; risk management in the employment and discrimination context; the introduction of changes to employment arrangements; the handling of union relations; and recruitment, disciplinary and termination issues. He is experienced in handling employment disputes, discrimination and privacy complaints/issues. He represents employers engaged in legal proceedings at the various court levels from the Labour Tribunal through to the Court of Final Appeal. He also advises employers in responding to investigations by the Labour Department, Equal Opportunities Commission and the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Privacy. Hong speaks English, Cantonese and Chiu Chow dialect.

He has been ranked as Band 1 lawyer in employment Hong Kong Law by Chambers Asia Pacific (2017-2021) and a "Leading individual" in employment law by Legal 500 Asia Pacific (2015-2021). He has been recognised by Who's Who Legal (2015) as being among the world's leading lawyers for employment and labour practice in Hong Kong. He was named as one of the "pre-eminent practitioners in the world" and "one of the world's leading lawyers" by Guide to the World's Leading Labour & Employment Lawyers (2011). He was also named a Leading Asia Law Labour & Employment Lawyer by the Asia Law & Practice Survey (2008).

Hong has contributed to leading employment and discrimination law textbooks "Chitty on Contracts, Hong Kong Specific Contracts" Chapter 7, "Employment Law and Practice in Hong Kong" Chapters 3 & 5 and "Discrimination Law and Practice in Hong Kong" Chapters 4 and 7 (and Co-General Editor).

Jennifer Van Dale is a Partner at Eversheds Sutherland, where she heads the data privacy and employment teams. She serves as trusted counsel to multinational clients on many workforce and cybersecurity issues. Jennifer regularly conducts training and advises on termination, remuneration, workforce planning and equal opportunities issues. She focuses on the future of work, smart cities and is currently writing about the technological choices we make as individuals and as a community.

Jennifer is recognized as one of Hong Kong’s leading employment lawyers and is ranked in the top tier by Legal 500 Asia Pacific and Chambers Asia Pacific. Jennifer graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Chinese and from the University of Hong Kong with an LL.B (first class) and P.C.LL.

Michelle Wei is Vice President and General Counsel of Asia at Flex. Flex is a Global Fortune 500 company listed on Nasdaq with approximately 160,000 employees across 30 countries. Michelle’s primary responsibilities are managing a wide range of legal issues in Asia region which include corporate governance, commercial contracts, procurement, disputes management, compliance, M&A, new investment, labor & employment and other regulatory areas.
Prior to joining Flex, Michelle worked with law firms in China and New York. She was also trained at a solicitor’s firm and a barrister’s chamber in London.
Michelle holds law degrees and a master degree in economics from China and the US. She is admitted to practice law in China and New York State.
