By 2035, 50% of Hong Kong is expected to be over the age of 50, one of the highest shares in the world. With ageing coming into sharper focus as an area of concern for individuals, companies and the government, there is an urgent need to address ageism in the workplace as both a moral and business imperative.

Yet few management teams have plans in place to address ageism, while individuals (including executives) have few resources for career development as they age. How can people protect themselves from age-related discrimination in the workplace? How can companies operating in Hong Kong find the best strategies to manage an ageing workforce? Are there legitimate reasons for excluding older people from hiring pools?

Join us as we discuss these questions and more with Professor Alfred Chan, Chairperson of Hong Kong's Equal Opportunities Commission.

Hosted by the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee and People & Organizational Culture Committee
