Yibing Mao Chief Legal Counsel – Asia Pacific at Marriott International, Inc. Yibing Mao is Chief Legal Counsel – Asia Pacific, her most recent role since joining Marriott International in 1996. She leads a multinational legal team across Asia Pacific that supports the development, lodging operations (including Asset Management, Brand Marketing, Sales and Consumer Insight, HR, and IT). Her team also has the responsibility of overseeing the implementation of legal compliance for the APAC Continent. Ms. Mao is part of the executive committee overseeing and responsible for the fastest growing business region in Marriott. Prior to the merger with Starwood, she assumed the dual role of Senior Vice President of Asset Management, heading up a restructure, financial analysis and partnership relations team. Before joining Marriott, Ms. Mao was an associate of the Hong Kong office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, a New York based law firm. She is a graduate of the School of Law of Duke University and Beijing University.

She is a past president of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers and headed the Fourth Estate Committee for the National Press Club in Washington. Jodi is active in the Foreign Correspondents Club in Hong Kong and appears regularly on panels discussing gender issues, U.S. politics and the future of journalism. She has a bachelor's degree in journalism and political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master's from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
