Wallace Lam (Managing Director, Deputy Head of Institutional Banking Group, DBS Hong Kong)
Wallace Lam
Mr Wallace Lam is DBS Bank’s Managing Director and Deputy Head of Institutional Banking Group, Hong Kong. He joined the bank in Sep 2021. Mr Lam is responsible for managing and growing the bank’s franchise in the large corporate and mid-cap businesses in Hong Kong, as well as overseeing the strategic advisory and syndicated finance business. Before joining DBS Hong Kong, Wallace was the Head of Corporate, Commercial Banking, Hong Kong at HSBC. With over 26 years of experience with HSBC, Wallace has held various senior management positions, including Head of High Yield Capital Markets for Asia-Pacific, Head of Client Coverage for Commercial Banking in China and Co-Head of Global Banking in Hong Kong. Wallace graduated from the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley, USA, with a double emphases in Finance and Marketing.

Advanced Sustainable Financing Instruments

Yulanda Chung
Yulanda Chung joined DBS in 2017 and is currently Head of Sustainability of Institutional Banking Group. She leads the Bank’s responsible financing framework, advises on environmental and social issues pertaining to transactions, combining risk management expertise with business origination capabilities. Yulanda was previously Group Head of Sustainable Finance at Standard Chartered in London, where she established the bank’s sustainable lending and impact investment agenda. Before joining the banking sector, she was an equity analyst for the mining and metals and building materials sectors at RobecoSAM in Zurich, Switzerland, where she was part of a pioneering team incorporating environmental and social factors into equity valuations. She is a trustee at think tank TransitionZero, which provides financial analytics in the power and heavy industries to support decarbonisation and is a founding partner of the Al Gore-backed coalition Climate TRACE. She was formerly a board member at ASrIA, during her tenure the organisation was integrated into the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment. She graduated with a Master of Science in Environmental Change and Management from Oxford University.

ESG markets blossom in China and Hong Kong

Nathan Chow
Mr Nathan Chow is DBS Bank’s Executive Director and Senior Economist and he joined us in May 2011. Mr Chow is responsible for monitoring the market development of offshore RMB businesses and the macroeconomic conditions in Greater China. He conducts economic/ investment seminars on a regular basis for the public and internal staff across Asia, spanning from Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei to Shanghai and Beijing. Mr Chow also provides training for internal staff with an aim to support sales programmes. As a guest speaker, he delivers lectures for postgraduates on MBA courses at the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining DBS Bank, Mr Chow had stayed with China International Capital Corporation Limited, China Investment Corporation and Hong Kong Monetary Authority as economist and analyst. Mr Chow’s expertise focuses on macroeconomics and financial market research. Mr Chow speaks regularly to the electronic media such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Wall Street Journal, TVB, NowTV, and Cable TV and various print media, like Financial Times, Fortune, Asiamoney, and China Daily providing his professional insights on finance and economics. Mr Chow also speaks on economic forums and conferences, such as those convened by Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, Treasury Markets Association, and Hong Kong Institute of Bankers. Mr Chow holds a Bachelor and a Master degree in Economics from Simon Fraser University.

Crystal Yuen
Crystal is the Trade Product Management Head for DBS (Hong Kong) Limited. At DBS, Crystal is responsible for strengthening the bank’s trade products and services in Hong Kong, with a focus on documentary trade and open account trade. She also takes charge of driving digital trade initiatives for both large corporates and small businesses. Prior to that, she held several different positions within global trade and receivable finance during her 10-year tenure with HSBC.

Alex Cheung
Mr. Alex Cheung is DBS Bank’s Managing Director and Head of Institutional Banking Group, Hong Kong. He joined the bank in July 2009. Mr. Cheung is responsible for growing the bank’s franchise in the corporate and commercial banking businesses in Hong Kong. Mr. Cheung is a seasoned banker with over 30 years of corporate and commercial banking experience with diversified industry, product and institutional exposure. Prior to joining DBS, he was the General Manager of North East Asia for OCBC Bank. Before that, he held senior positions in corporate commercial banking and risk management with major international banks including Citibank, ABN-AMRO and Rabobank. Mr. Cheung started his banking career as a management trainee with Bank of America in Hong Kong in 1981. Mr. Cheung graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences (Economics).
