About ChatGPT
ChatGPT is a sibling model to InstructGPT, which is trained to follow instructions in a prompt and provide a human-like detailed response. ChatGPT hit the one million user mark after being made public in November 2022, and two months later, it reached 100 million monthly active users (followed by nine months for Tiktok and 30 months for Instagram). ChatGPT, which is a type of Generative AI that uses machine learning algorithms to generate new, unique content based on existing data, was first introduced in the 1960s. However, it was not publicly known globally via ChatGPT until November 2022.
