Dr. Kaili Chen is from Singapore and has lived in various countries, such as Thailand, Malaysia, China, and the United States. She has worked in psychology since 2010 in several non-profit organizations and community mental health centers, providing therapy to individuals, conducting group therapy sessions, and psycho-educational seminars. She is currently working in private practice at Central Minds.
Before becoming a clinical psychologist, Dr. Chen worked in a prominent global supply chain management corporation and experienced the immense work stress that can accumulate over time. This understanding greatly emphasized the importance of work-life balance, not only for adults but for teenagers in school as well. This is a passion Dr. Chen has, and she hopes to encourage further dialogue on this matter.
Dr. Chen utilizes her training to provide her clients with insight and practical exercises. She believes in working with and empowering individuals to develop new coping strategies to improve and enhance their lives. Practice interests include mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment issues, grief and loss, and trauma. Dr. Chen works with adolescents and adults for individual therapy.
Besides working with clients, Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her dogs, all of whom remind her of the simplicity and fun of life. She has always been fascinated by the bond between animals and humans. Being a pet guardian of two dogs, she understands and experiences the psychological and emotional benefits of having animals around her daily.
Additionally, she continues to challenge herself physically by consistently attending CrossFit sessions.
