AmCham HK invites you to join the Trade & Investment Committee Meeting on June 21st (16:30 - 17:30). This meeting will be in hybrid format; with in-person attendance taking place at the AmCham Community Hub: 22/F, Hong Kong Diamond Exchange Building

8-10 Duddell Street, Central, Hong Kong. Virtual dial-in will also be available.

For guests attending in-person; we will also have a casual happy hour at a nearby venue in Central (location TBC).

IMPORTANT : Revised Guest Policy Effective October 1st 2021

From October 1st, all guests who are over 16 years old will be required to complete the AmCham Health Declaration Form and show proof of vaccination (at least the first jab), for access to the event. The Chamber will be using the Hong Kong Government's scanner to verify the QR code on the guest's vaccine certificate (digital record retrieved from the"iAM Smart" app or the physical certificate).
If guests have medical exemptions AmCham will require proof via an official government form issued by the guest's doctor. In addition to the "medically not suitable for COVID-19 vaccination" exemption, AmCham will also require a negative COVID-19 PCR test, taken within 72 hours of the guest's visit.

David Chao is the Global Market Strategist for Asia Pacific, responsible for developing Invesco’s view on the investment market and global economy, as well as providing strategic investment advice to financial professionals and clients in the region. He joined Invesco in 2019.

David has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry across Asia Pacific and North American markets. He has built strong business and governmental networks through providing advisory services to facilitate investments throughout Greater China and Southeast Asia. Prior to joining Invesco, David led the Foreign Direct Investment Advisory unit for United Overseas Bank in Hong Kong. He started his investment career in New York with Goldman Sachs, and later spent over 5 years as an equity analyst with Balyasny Asset Management and Visium Funds.

David holds a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in International Political Economy from Cornell University as well as a Masters in International Affairs from the University of Hong Kong. He is currently the Vice Chair of the Trade and Investment Committee at American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.

Brett Stephenson is the Public Affairs Lead for North Asia with UPS based in Hong Kong, covering trade, supply chains, customs, e-commerce, public policy, and healthcare logistics issues in the Indo-Pacific region. Prior to his time in Hong Kong, he worked at the American Chamber of Commerce in China in Beijing as a government affairs analyst and energy coordinator, developing policy reports that were used by Chinese and US government officials and reported on by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Financial Times, and other international media outlet.

Mr. Stephenson previously worked for a federal cabinet minister in Canada and worked in campaign politics. Brett is the current Vice-Chair of AmChamHK’s Trade and Investment Committee.

Brett holds an M.A. in international relations and a thesis in energy geopolitics from Renmin University of China, an international program certificate from University of Ulsan (Korea), and an urban planning degree from the University of Lethbridge (Canada). He speaks and reads intermediate Chinese, Spanish, French, has beginner level Korean, and is taking Japanese language classes currently. Mr. Stephenson is a regular golfer, hiker, boxer, and likes to play tennis and train in Kendo.
