The COVID-19 pandemic has seen surging demand in consumer products; despite continuous global economic recovery, an outbreak of the Delta variant COVID-19 in China could cause acute congestion of port, thus posing major supply chain disruption to record ocean freight rates.

What is the outlook of the logistics industry in the short to medium term? How will the boom of the eCommerce sector have an impact on the shipping market? Please join this panel discussion hosted by the Transportation and Logistics committee as industry experts will share their insights on the industry landscape and outlook for the future.

Chaminda Gunasekera.FCILT is the Senior Director of SEKO Logistics Hong Kong looking after eCommerce, Air Product and Network and also covering the company’s Sustainability efforts in APAC. Chaminda is Sri Lankan living in Hong Kong and has been in the region for over 13 years and also lived in Dubai for 5 years. Chaminda has held many senior roles in his career and volunteered for social work. Some of few important roles he has held in Asia and Middle East were, VP of Sales , Marketing & Key accounts in Agility Greater China, Group Director-Commercial for Able Logistics Group in the Middle East (Acquired by Kerry Logistics), the first Director of International Business for Kerry Logistics in Greater China, CEO of Bax Global Sub Continent and East Africa to name a few. Chaminda is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and services and served as the Chairman of UAE board of directors for CILT based in Dubai. Chaminda is a very passionate sustainability activist looking after many projects for CO2 savings and designing logistics solutions for carbon neutralizing eCommerce products. Chaminda is very active in Social media and could be found with his profile in LinkedIn.

Frank Jensen is Chief Commercial Officer at Modern Terminals Ltd and has worked in Asia since 1990. He has worked in the Logistics/Container Shipping industry for 28 years. He joined Modern Terminals in 2000 as General Manager Sales & Marketing. Prior to joining Modern Terminals, Frank spent 10 years in Asia with Danish trading company The East Asiatic Company (EAC) where he worked in various leadership roles in Logistics and Transportation in Hong Kong and Mainland China as well as two years in Mumbai, India as Managing Director for EAC’s activities and investments in India.
Frank has an Executive MBA from Ivey Business School, Canada.
Frank is from Denmark and has been involved with the Danish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong since 2006 and served as Chairman of the Chamber from 2011 to 2016.

Based in Hong Kong, Mirco Renfer is responsible for all aspects of United Cargo's activity in the Asia Pacific region and plans and directs the work of United Cargo's team of sales, operations and revenue management professionals in the region that lasts from the North Pacific including Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, all of SE Asia, Australia, New Zealand and United’s presence in the hub of Guam and Micronesia.

Renfer joined United Airlines in 2006. Prior to his assuming his current role, he led United Cargo Sales for the Europe, Middle East, India and Africa region. Before joining United, Renfer worked for United Cargo's General Sales Agent in Switzerland for nine years in operations and sales positions of increasing responsibility.

Renfer received his Master's Degree from Zurich Business School in Switzerland.

James is responsible for Maersk’s growth in the Retail and Lifestyle verticals in Greater China.

James’ background in leadership has included various positions in Ko-rea, Denmark, UK, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Roles have included a mix of IC, LO & LL roles with many years working in multi-cultural environments leading diverse teams at country, re-gional and global levels:
