The US-China tech war is in full swing. Democrats and Republicans rarely agree on a single issue, but there is a consensus on tougher policy stance toward China. On the one hand, the US aims to keep a technological competitive edge against China through blocking China's access to advanced US technologies and putting more resources to bolster R&D in innovation and technology. On the other hand, China has accelerated its effort to be technologically self-sufficient particularly in the areas of AI, robotics, and semiconductors.
In reality, which side has an upper hand in this tech war? How does China's technology sector fare in light of the recent regulatory campaign? Has China's zero COVID policy affected its tech race with the US? Has the US been successful in terms of slowing down China's technological rise?
Please join the 5th installment of China Insight Series as we attempt to ponder these critical questions.
