The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program (“EB-5”) is a highly popular pathway for foreign investors to gain U.S. permanent residency (“Green Card”). While the program has been in existence since 1990, it previously struggled with systemic problems, including remaining a “pilot” program that required constant approval by Congress. It also increasingly became unattractive for individuals born in Mainland China due to a significant backlog...

To support the employment of persons with disabilities, the Social Welfare Department (SWD) launched the Support Programme for Employees with Disabilities (SPED) in June 2013 to provide employers of persons with disabilities with a one-off subsidy for each employee with disabilities for procurement of assistive devices and/or workplace modifications. The program, which aims to assist employees with disabilities in discharging their duties in the workplace and enhance their work efficiency, is open for applications all year round.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced the implementation arrangements of "Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles" (the Scheme).

Upon the agreement between the governments of Guangdong and Hong Kong, the Scheme will be open for application from eligible Hong Kong private cars from 9am on June 1 this year. Approved Hong Kong private cars will be allowed to travel between Hong Kong and Guangdong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) starting from 0.00am on July 1.
