AmCham Women of Influence Committee was proud to join hands with Inspiring Girls Hong Kong for a panel discussion on Reversed Mentoring, where three future leaders shared their unique views on the future of work. It was an opportunity to learn from the next generation and gain valuable insights to future-proof your organization. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them.

On Thursday evening, AmCham members from Apparel, Footwear & Supply Chain, Future of Work, Insurance, Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals and Law Committees gathered at the Community Hub and mingled over drinks and light refreshments.

AmCham is saddened to learn about the passing of former governor, Mr Dipo Chandiram Sani at the age of 79.

An American Citizen born in India, Dipo was Director of Hindustan Trading Co Ltd, a family business started in 1950. At AmCham, he served as a Board Member from 2004-2009, a Chairman on the Textile Committee and the Trade & Investment Committee. Dipo was actively involved in community service, which he served in the Rotary Club in Hong Kong and on the international level, and was a District Governor for Hong Kong and Macau from 1999-2000.

Dipo had been a member of AmCham since 1992. May he rest in peace.

AmCham has commenced its 2023 Chief Executive Policy Address submission drafting process and we are reaching out to invite committees input on both macro and industry views. In the next couple of weeks, please do not hesitate to discuss with a committee chair or vice chair the policy opportunities, challenges and recommendations that are relevant to your sector, and submit your views by July 20, 2023. We look forward to your input!

It was reported in the latest IMF's statement that economic activity in Hong Kong SAR is normalizing with the reopening of the border. Strong fiscal policy support has helped the economy navigate through multiple shocks over the last few years, while strong institutional frameworks and financial buffers have allowed the financial system to remain resilient and continue to operate smoothly, including the Linked Exchange Rate System (LERS).

The Pilot Scheme for Supporting Patients of the Hospital Authority in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) was launched to enable eligible Hong Kong citizens to receive subsidized consultations at the University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital (HKU-SZH). The Pilot Scheme will also be conducive to Hong Kong Government's formulation of a more effective approach to support the medical needs of Hong Kong citizens residing in the GBA.
