AmCham Onward HK Series Comes to An End
image
On June 14, we concluded the 10-month Onward Hong Kong series with a closing panel consisted of Allan Zeman, Jasper Tsang, Harshika Patel, James Fok and Stacey Chow (moderator), and a closing keynote speech by Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Algernon Yau.

The panel felt that international businesses will need to navigate geopolitical risks, US-China relations and technological disruption for years to come. In the face of challenges, there are tremendous opportunities for Hong Kong during this transition period. It would be in Hong Kong’s best interest to thrive in an uncertain environment by preserving its core values as an international business hub, strengthening its competitiveness, equipping future generations of talent with the skills needed for the future, and providing greater social upward mobility for all. Hong Kong’s prosperity lies in the success of China; by taking advantage of One Country, Two Systems and its uniqueness as a super-connector, Hong Kong will continue to play a unique role in Chinese modernization.

This Onward Hong Kong Series, which began in September 2022, had looked at the theme: Resilience, Rebound, Renewal from sustainability, the future generation, entrepreneurship, Hong Kong as an international financial center, to arts, culture and sports, etc.

The series would not have been a success without the support from our distinguished speakers, and Presenting Sponsor Meta, and Corporate Champions including Alliance Bernstein, Citi, Colgate, OTIS, Pfizer, and Uber. Thank you all for your participation!
