The term "metaverse" first appeared in Neal Stephenson's 1992 science fiction novel Snow Crash in which individuals turn into digital avatars to explore the virtual world. No longer a science fiction today, metaverse has become the buzzword in Web3 where companies from various industries establish a digital presence.
