Awards Overview

We are excited to announce a new award for this year dedicated to all female athletes and coaches in Hong Kong. In the words of an Olympian judge, "In today's world, no organization or country can afford to let half of the population be left behind – either in sport or in society. Advancing women in and through sport is truly a team effort. By joining hands and working together, sport can inspire the necessary change and lead the way."

"Leading Woman in SPORTS" - will be awarded to a woman who has made remarkable contributions to the development, encouragement and reinforcement of women and girls' participation in sport on and off the field of play.

There is enormous talent in Hong Kong deserving of recognition, and a celebration of their achievements. The Women of Influence Committee and the American Chamber greatly appreciate those who take the time and effort to nominate outstanding award candidates.

In total there are ten awards, eight for individual (or group) female candidates, one for best company and one award open to a male ally "Champion for the Advancement of Women". All fields in the nomination form must be completed and within the given word count. The candidate, whether an individual or a company, needs to have a strong and demonstrable link to their impact in Hong Kong. Candidates are not required to be a USA citizen or to work for a USA corporation; for a company submission, candidates are not required to be USA based entity.

To be eligible, individuals or companies must register their interest via the system by filling out the attached form in its entirety. Nominations can be made on behalf of an individual or an individual can self-nominate. Each nomination must be submitted on or before the deadline of 12:00am HKT Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Nominations that are requesting support from AmCham to complete the application must be received by 12:00am HKT Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
